The lyre shaped case sumounted by three cast brass acorn finials over an inlaid brass case with plain sides, terminating in a brass moulded base and sitting on a plinth further raised on carved wooden feet with fine brass detailing centred by floral decoration. The 8 inch white dial with black Roman numerals signed in the centre James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London number 1180, framed by a pierced and engraved brass fret set before a mirror with a strike/silent subsidiary above. The double fusee movement with anchor escapement striking the hours on a polished bell mounted above, the back plate signed in an engraved cartouche James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London with further floral detailing to the border. 44cms (17.5ins) high.
