• Lot n° 93 A fine and rare mahogany and brass inlaide regency striking table clock with subsidiary seconds dial Allport, Birmingham Allport, Birmingham The case sumounted by a pineapple brass finial over a pagoda top supported on floral swags above an architectural base with finely inlaid brass detailing, the Egyptianesque columns supporting the main case with a bevelled mahogany insert to the centre, terminating in a block base and resting on four brass ball feet. The 6 inch silvered brass dial framed by a decorated brass bezel with black Roman numerals to the silvered dial with blued steel hands and unusual subsidiary seconds dial signed Allport, Birmingham. The finely made movement shaped to fit the case with an engraved border and signed on the back plate by the maker with a anchor escapement driven by a pair of fusees and striking the hours on a bell mounted to the back plate, currently ticking and striking. 50cms (20ins) high.
