  • Lot n° 122 EIGHT DETACHED BLADES FOR SWORDS OF REGULATION TYPE, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURIES the first from a 1796 light cavalry trooper’s sword, inscribed ‘J. J. Runckel, Solingen’, on the back-edge; the second similar, with traces on an inscription on the back-edge (tang missing its last portion of approximately 1.0 cm); the third inscribed ‘Runkel’ on the back-edge, ‘Vivat Hussar’ and with a portrait of a hussar on each face at the forte (areas of wear); the fourth and fifth by the same bladesmith, one with a stylised dragon on each face at the forte and the other with ‘GR’ crowned (areas of pitting); and three further blades, one in its leather scabbard (seam opened), the first 83.2 cm blade (8)
