Gustavo Montoya was born in Mexico City and grew up experiencing the upheaval of the Mexican Revolution, an experience that deeply influenced his artistic vision. Montoya studied at the historic Academy of San Carlos and later lived in Europe, where he expanded his artistic training and developed his distinctive style. Montoya was one of the most important artists of the "Escuela Mexicana de Pintura" (Mexican School Artists) and is associated with the "Easel Painting" of the Mexican Neorealism of the 20th century. Throughout his career, he focused on portraying everyday Mexican life, creating paintings of street scenes, markets, working-class communities, still lifes, and portraits. Montoya became especially known for his images of children dressed in traditional Mexican clothing, which celebrated the country's cultural heritage. 28" H x 36" W Visual: Overall good appearance.
