The impressive case engraved all over with foliate scrollwork, repeating geometric borders, foliage and flowers and other patterns on both burnished and matt grounds, surmounted by an engraved rippled carrying handle and an oval bevelled glass observation window, with repeat button, the sides of cloisonné enamel panels in rich turquoise tones depicting budding flowers in many colours, the rear door glazed, all on a moulded base with fine engraving. The 3.75 inch dial with large gilt Roman chapter ring and matching cloisonné enamel centre and mask, with Arabic alarm setting dial below, and blued steel hands. The substantial movement with large silvered lever platform escapement, wound from the rear and powered by a pair of going barrels, striking the hours and half hours on a blued steel gong mounted to the back plate together with alarm work mounted to the upper left corner of the movement, signed Breguet, and numbered 5125. Currently ticking and striking. 25cms (10ins) high.
