• Lot n° 32 A Mexican Maximilian Period sarape Circa 1862-1865 Woven in white and multicolored floss wool in two panels seamed down the middle, with a central floral diamond medallion and a floral border, the field with alternating grey and black ticking scattered throughout 83" H x 46" W approximately With dust accumulation, creasing, and wear commensurate with age and use. Each side with scattered dark stains and small spots, with some small smudged marks to one end. Scattered small holes and small areas of loose weave, some with sympathetic stitched darned repairs. The central seam with a few areas of loose stitching, and with reinforcement and replacement stitching in places. The short ends with raveled raw edges.
