• Lot n° 34 An early Mexican Chinaco sombrero Circa 1865 Interior band stamped in gold: Bartley Hats [three crowns]; with multiple further oval dark stamps: [illegible] Almacen The beige fur felt low rounded crown hat with 5 1/2 inch flat brim, padded fabric double band and metal thread wrapped buttons, the edges with wide silver metal thread ribbon edging and braid accents, with interior leather sweat band and leather laces 5.5" H x 17.5" W x 18.75" H; Inner band: 22.25" C Overall good condition with dust accumulation, tarnishing, and wear commensurate with age and use. Scattered minor marks and smudges to felt, with a few faint spots and stains. A pea-sized area of insect grazing to crown exterior. Heavier staining to interior brim felt, with creasing, a few scratches, and rubbed wear to leather band.
