• Lot n° 46 A Mexican Saltillo sarape Circa 1880 Finely woven in multicolored wool with an elaborate aggregate-style central serrated diamond with silver metal thread accents, Mexican flag motifs, and with multiple geometric and foliate ombré shaded banded stripe motifs all on a variegated salt and pepper field 86.5" H x 43.5" W approximately With dust accumulation and typical signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Issues include, but not limited to: fading to side A; scattered spots and stains, especially to one end, with a larger faint stain just below the diamond; scattered splits of various sizes, small holes and areas of loose weave; wear to selvage edges including loose threads, minor stitch losses and a couple of larger splits; each short end with ravelled edges and areas of minor loss.
