• Yasushi Tanaka, Japanese 1886-1941 - Femme à l'hermine; oil on canvas, 61 x 50.7 cm Provenance: a Private Collection of French Naturalist Painters Note: Japanese born Tanaka moved to Paris in 1920 and was soon exhibiting at many of its most important events, including the Salon d'Automne, and Salon des Tuileries. His work is now in major French and Japanese collections, including the Musée du Luxembourg and the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama. A retrospective of his work was held at the Marseille Gallery in Paris in 1946.
