• Lot n° 179 Two Mexican Talavera pottery jars Mid/late 20th century Smaller signed to underside: TALAVERA / VENEGAS / MEX; larger unmarked The enameled earthenware lidded jars each decorated with floral and foliate motifs, comprising one monumental and one smaller depicting two profile busts of ladies 2 pieces Monumental: 49" H x 24.75" Dia.; Smaller: 27.75" H x 16" Dia. The larger with a 4" x 1" area of repaired break to lid rim as well as a 1.25" long chipped loss to rim exterior. Smaller with a 1.25" long chipped loss to lid rim. Each overall good condition with shelf wear, scattered minor scuffs, and inherent firing flaws commensurate with age. Each with crazing to glaze throughout.
