The 11.5 inch signed silvered dial with blued steel hands and concentric minute band enclosing the subsidiary dials for running seconds (with Observatory marks), and Roman hours, within an angled sight ring, bordered to the lower half by a pierced carved cresting of foliate scroll work. The substantial weight driven movement secured to the seatboard via three heavy brass L-shaped brackets with thick plates united by six tapering 'cannon barrel' pillars screwed to the front plate, with maintaining power, high count pinions and wheels of six crossings throughout, the deadbeat escapement with skeletonised pallets holding large facetted jewels, the crutch with fine screw beat adjustment to the steel rod and brass crutch to a mercury jar pendulum suspended from a substantial bracket with adjustable suspension assembly, reading against a silvered beat scale at the base.
