• Lot n° 60 A second half of the 17th century ebony architectural table clock Henry Jones, London A second half of the 17th century ebony architectural table clock Henry Jones, London The case surmounted by an architectural portico with moulded detailing over a plain front door with further moulded detailing around the aperture, the sides with glazed observation windows and terminating in a moulded base, the rear with solid door, the whole resting on a turntable base and raised on four turned bun feet, the 9 inch brass dial with silvered skeletonised chapter ring with black Roman numerals and small Arabic five minute markers, the half hours denoted by simple dot markers, the matted centre with later blued steel hands and framed by four finely cast winged cherub head spandrels, the movement with six vase shaped pillars secured by six latches to the backplate with verge escapement and short bob pendulum striking the hours via an external count wheel mounted to the backplate, powered by a pair of gut fusees now with steel lines, the solid clicks mounted to the backplate with finely finished steelwork, signed in a central cartouche Henricus Jones, Londini, currently ticking and striking. 48cms (18.5ins) high.
