The case surmounted by a brass knopped carrying handle above an inverted bell top with moulded surround, the front with pierced sound frets and glazed observation windows to the sides, terminating in a moulded base and standing on four moulded feet. The 4.75 inch brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with floating lozenge half hour markers, the matted centre with mock pendulum aperture and date aperture, with blued steel hands framed by cast brass spandrels and a silvered subsidiary strike/silent dial, signed William Webster, London. The double gut fusee movement with verge escapement and short bob pendulum, striking the hours on a polished bell mounted above and repeating on a nest of six polished bells and hammers, with finely engraved backplate, currently ticking and striking. 35cms (13.75ins) high.
