The central reserve depicting the Greco-Roman god and the nine Muses playing musical instruments, seated and standing on Mount Helicon, a nymph to the foreground reclining in the Hippocrene, Pegasus and two winged putto flying above, within a foliated gilt border, the outer rim with satyr and other maskheads on a scrolling paper scrolling border on a black ground, the underside with an oval profile portrait of a maiden, the angular scrolling border with twin male figures, seated putto and maskhead, the underside outer rim with further gilt foliate scrolls, 40cm wide, 32cm deep, 5.5cm high
