  • Lot n° 87 A fine and rare early 19th century, ormolu-mounted biscuit porcelain figural clock with armillary sphere and twin cherubs made for Sir Charles Kent in 1820 Vulliamy, London, No.758 Vulliamy, London, No.758 The clock standing on a white marble base with shallow gilt bun feet, flanked by two biscuit porcelain putti and adorned with gilt scientific instruments including an octant, the front with a finely engraved panel depicting drapery and a leather bound book. The rectangular white marble case with engraved and gilt frieze signed Vulliamy, London, the sides with oval Wedgwood panels within gilt frames depicting cherubic scenes, the rear with a gilt door and the top surmounted by a gilt armillary sphere with revolving rings. The 2.75 inch white enamel dial with gilt Roman numerals and finely pierced gilt hands. The single fusee timepiece movement signed and numbered Vulliamy, London number 758, with six pillars and rise and fall regulation, with subsidiary winding square to the front plate, with steel rod pendulum and heavy brass bob, currently ticking. 33cms (13ins) high.
