The case with overhanging moulded cornice over a plain frieze supported by Doric twisted columns, the sides with glazed observation windows to a convex throat moulding, the long trunk door with panels of book-matched veneers framed by a D moulded edge, on a moulded section and matching base on bun feet. The 10 inch square brass dial with skeletonised silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, the matted centre with date aperture and subsidiary seconds, all framed by cast brass cherubs head spandrels, signed below VI Henry Harpur, London. The two train movement with anchor escapement and long pendulum, striking the hours via an external countwheel on a large bell mounted above, united by five pinned and knopped pillars. Ticking and striking, sold with a pendulum and pair of brass clad weights. 2.03m (6.6ft) high.
