• Lot n° 353 Elinor Bellingham Smith, British 1906-1988 - Two women sitting under a tree; watercolour and pencil on paper, signed with initials lower right 'EBS', 11.2 x 15.4 cm (ARR) Note: the lightness and delicacy is typical of the artist's work and demonstrates the influence of Berthe Morisot, in particular here in the subject matter. The artist had solo exhibitions at the Leicester Galleries in the 1940s and her work was exhibited as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951. Her work is now in public collections including the Arts Council Collection, the Government Art Collection and the Tate.
