Martin Leman is celebrated for his naïve and gently surrealist style reminiscent of Henri Rousseau. He is particularly known for his paintings of cats and the numerous illustrated books he has made, including 'Comic and Curious Cats' which featured a text by Angela Carter, making him a natural heir to Louis Wain.
