• Lot n° 114 A late 18th century ebonised inverted bell top table clock, quarter repeating on six bells William Frodsham, London William Frodsham, London The case sumounted by a brass carrying handle over an inverted bell top framed by four further cast finials over a moulded top, the front with cast sound frets and brass inlay, the sides incorporating two panels, one formerly an observation window, terminating in a moulded base and sitting on four elaborately cast and decorated feet. The 8 inch brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with a matted centre signed in a silvered cartouche William Frodsham, London with a separate calendar aperture and blued steel hands framed by cast brass spandrels with a strike/silent subsidiary decorated with a shaped star to the break arch. The double fusee movement now with steel lines and verge escapement striking the hours on a polished bell mounted above and quarter repeating on a nest of six polished bells and hammers, the back plate fully engraved, currently ticking and striking. 55cms (22ins) high.
