Depiction of an everyday scene with two boys flying a butterfly-shaped kite being watched by a man, a female servant carrying two lacquer bowls to two ladies over a small bridge, the ladies each holding a fan, one with a small child on her back, observed by two men at the left edge of the painting. The scene takes place in an idyllic river landscape, with a building or city wall on the bank and boats in the background.
