• Lot n° 39 A Mexican Post-Maximilian Period sarape Circa 1875-1885 Finely woven in deep green and multicolored floss wool with a central delicately serrated aggregate-style diamond and multiple banded stripe motifs to each end 80" H x 40.5" W approximately With dust accumulation and typical signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Issues include, but not limited to: very slight uneven fading to one side, with faint fade mark to center crease, a few scattered pale stains to one side of the diamond, a few small splits and a small hole, including a small ravelled split at one selvedge edge, with loose weft and sympathetic repair stitching, one short edge with areas of loose weave and ravelled threads, the largest area: 3.5" L, and each short edge with losses to original fringing.
