• Lot n° 117 A George III mahogany and crossbanded serpentine commode Circa 1775, in the manner of John Cobb A George III mahogany and crossbanded serpentine commode Circa 1775, in the manner of John Cobb Inlaid with boxwood strung tablets, the top above one long part mahogany and part oak lined frieze drawer, over three long graduated oak lined drawers, flanked by keeled angles, with a shaped apron, on splayed legs, with serpentine sides, the uppermost drawer originally fitted with a sliding top probably incorporating a toilet mirror and enclosing a full complement of compartments (since removed), there are concave quarter fillets inside the drawers, the mounts period but probably not original, 122cm wide x 64cm deep x 88.5cm high, (48in wide x 25in deep x 34 1/2in high)
