• Lot n° 109 An early 18th century Spanish walnut vargueño with unusual botanical painted decoration, The paintwork of a later date, probably late 18th or early 19th century The paintwork of a later date, probably late 18th or early 19th century The cabinet of rectangular iron strut bound form with twin oval iron drop carrying handles to the sides, the fall front with decorative iron lockplate with twin split baluster and fret pierced decoration, shaped long hasp and decorative key, enclosing an arrangement of four short, four medium and two long drawers with turned and stained knopped bone handles, above a central deep drawer with architectural twin column and fan inset pedimented front, the whole painted with bouquets and sprays of garden flowers and fruit including roses, tulips, dahlias, carnations, hydrangeas, narcissus, myosotis and convolvulus, cut and whole melons, lemons, cherries, grapes and pears, colourful songbirds and butterflies, the central inner drawer with a figural scene of the Virgin and Christ Child within an oval floral wreath, 44cm high, 69.5cm wide, 34.5cm deep
