The 7 inch brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the matted centre with calendar aperture and central name plaque signed George Bates, London with blued steel hands framed by cast brass spandrels with strike/silent aperture to the break arch. The double fusee movement with shaped plates, the back plate finely engraved with Rococo decoration, with verge escapement and short bob pendulum, striking the hours on a polished bell mounted above, currently ticking and striking. 44cm (18ins) high.
