The case surmounted by a lacquered brass double-baluster handle set in ring terminals with gadrooned collets, similar collets set to the front and rear to protect the book-matched veneered panel framed by a feather banded border to a plain moulded cornice over a silk-backed sound fret to all four sides, long glazed side panels on a moulded base and bun feet.
The 9 inch square gilt brass dial with narrow silvered chapter ring; the minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals enclosing the Roman hours with fleur-de-lys half hour markers emanating from an inner quarter hour track, around a finely matted centre with chamfered date aperture and blued steel hands, framed by four gilt brass winged cherub spandrels signed Henry Jones in the Temple along the lower edge, secured to the movement via four latched dial feet . The twin gut fusee movement united by six latched, ringed and knopped pillars, knife edge verge escapement and short bob pendulum, striking the hours via an external count wheel engraved with a Tudor rose and Arabic hours, currently ticking and striking. 45cms (18ins) high.
